The factory Triumph sponsored Bonneville Performance AMA Pro Flat Track team had the privilege of hosting VETMotorsports (VETM), a non-profit 501c3 organization, as a part of our team efforts at the Lima Half Mile event.
VETM is a non-clinical outreach program that honors and empowers wounded combat veterans through active participation in motorsports events. Since 2012, VETM has successfully placed over 50 veterans on pit crews for AMA Motorcycle Roadracing and IMSA Automobile Racing Teams. In this case, VETMotorsports embedded a veteran named David as a pit-crew member of our team. This was a trial run for both of our organizations, as VETM has not yet placed any vets in an AMA Flat Track event. We were honored to be their first test case.
David worked tirelessly, without complaint and with a great positive attitude throughout the long race event, and assisted us into the night as we packed up to leave Lima behind.
Based on our positive initial experience, we can wholeheartedly endorse this organization and the work they are doing on behalf of our nation’s wounded warriors. This is one small way we can thank them for their service and sacrifice.
Bonneville Performance hopes that we can partner with VETMotorsports again at future race events!
